Adjacent to one of Big Sky Resort’s ski lifts in the Cascade Subdivision of Big Sky, Montana, the design of this traditional mountain home takes full advantage of the convenience of a slope-side lot with its fully decked out ski room. There is no need to pack up the car and lug bulky gear across the parking lot and onto the shuttle. This dream ski home is where the car stays parked in the garage, while the homeowners and guests hit the slopes right outside from the ski lift traversing the backyard.
HOME DESIGN DETAILS
Throughout the home, simplicity of design is paired with generously sized rooms for a comfortable flow of interior spaces and furnishings throughout the two living levels. The main level has two spacious master suites that flank the centralized living room, dining room, and kitchen. Two fireplaces face each other from opposite ends of the open space that flows from the great room into the dining room. The kitchen has a large island with plenty of counter space for feeding hungry skiers before or after hitting the slopes. A large laundry room with space for all guests, a pantry, and a spacious mudroom are easily accessible from the garage and main living space. Walls of windows throughout the home’s south side bring the outdoor views of Big Sky Ski Resort inside for peaceful recollection of the day’s epic ski runs.
The home’s lower level offers guests their choice of three bedroom suites. A recreation room is centrally located and offers a wet bar for après ski celebrations. A ski room provides a place for convenient equipment storage and leads into a separate laundry and powder room, providing easy access for freshening up after skiing.
