Cottonwood Canyon Family Home
CLIENT OVERVIEW
This new build is designed for a local, young family that is planning a home on their family-owned property. Geared toward family living, the inspiration for this home is the layout and functionality of their dream home on a smaller scale but still with a little space for the family to grow into.
HOME DESIGN DETAILS
The main floor plan includes a main master suite with dual walk-in closets and a large bathroom with a soaking tub. The main living area boasts a stone fireplace and has an open concept with the dining area and kitchen, which allows the whole family to be together across the spaces. Double doors lead out to the big wrap-around porch. The large porch lends itself to an overall farmhouse feel, complete with the adjacent barn feeling of the gambrel roof over the garage and workshop. Overall, the exterior has a rustic barn feel that fits into the country-style living of the area
Upstairs, there are two bedrooms designed for the children to have their own space, including a Jack and Jill bath. The second floor is partially open to the living room below, giving the downstairs living area soaring ceilings, which adds to its open feel. The upstairs also includes a space dedicated to yoga practice (and perhaps some crafts here and there) and an unfinished bonus room for the family to grow into.
Tucked in the foothills south of Bozeman, Montana, Cottonwood Canyon is a wooded sanctuary where many outdoor enthusiasts find solace on the trail that follows a bubbling creek on the backside of Hyalite Canyon. And a few fortunate individuals also get to call this area home.
